Although each sport may have its own specific issues when it comes to proper lighting, there are several consistent variables in designing sports lighting.
ILLUMINANCE LIGHT LEVELS:
The right amount of light required on the playing surface differs greatly depending on the type of sport in question. In general, fast action sports with a small playing object (tennis ball) or long viewing distance will require high lighting levels. A slower speed, larger playing object (football) or closer viewing distance, requires lower lighting levels.
